Description
Vintage heavy glass flask with shot glass cap in black ground leather carrying case. Can't make out the stamp on the underside of the flask. Case is marked 'Made in Austria' though that also clearly indicates it was made for the English speaking market. Unsure of the age. The 'ground leather' case is very similar to those used for some film cameras in the 1940s & 1950s. This makes further sense when noting that the clasp is marked 'Depose' with a logo which looks like a camera from this era.
Flask has some art deco styling and a slightly tilted neck. The red plastic inner cap is a replacement, almost certainly borrowed from a liquor bottle which was used to fill it. However it is well fitting. Silver outer 'shot glass' style cap is metal.
Flask is approximately 6" tall (7" with spout & cap), 5" wide and 1.75" deep overall. In the case it's 8" x 4" x 2" with a total weight of just over 1lb.
In great vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Clean with a few light surface marks on the glass. Case feels dry (as older ground leather tends to become) with minor some surface cracking on the flap and, most notably, a rip near the closure. It could likely be easily moisturized & repaired by someone with knowledge about how to do so with older ground leather construction. Hardware has signs of age & wear but still appears quite sturdy. Overall quite a nice vintage piece.
Carefully packed & promptly shipped.
